  • Germ Cell Cancer – Rare cancer that develops in the reproductive cells or egg-producing cells of the ovary.

  • Stromal Cell Cancer – An extremely rare cancer that evades in tissue cells that retain the ovary together and develop the female hormones progesterone and estrogen.

Treatments

The initial therapy for epithelial ovarian cancer is chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery that may be provided solely or in combination with other.

Surgery: Operation for removing ovarian cancer involves surgery to remove one ovary, surgery to remove both ovaries, surgery to remove both ovaries and uterus, and surgery for advanced cancer.

Chemotherapy: It is often used for killing any remaining cancer cells after the surgery. Chemotherapy medicine might be injected into veins or consumed by mouth.

Hormone Therapy: In this therapy, specific kinds of drugs are used to block the impact of the hormone oestrogen on ovarian cells. It is also an optimum solution for slow-pace ovarian cancers.
