Cancer that develops in the male reproductive system i.e. Prostate - A walnut-shaped endocrine gland that produces seminal fluid. A fluid that nourishes and transports sperm.
Prostate cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer-related death in men and the second most common type of cancer in the world. Some prostate cancer grows slowly and might not cause serious harm. While other prostate cancer might be aggressive and spread rapidly.
An initial stage of prostate cancer is where the cancer cells are confined only to the prostate and have not spread to any other areas.
Early signs of prostate cancer include:
Pain while urination
Blood in semen and urine
Lack of bladder control
Pain while ejection
Erectile Malfunction
Continuous urge to urine at night
The restrained flow of urine
A stage where the cancer cells spread from the prostate gland to the surrounding tissues, tubes that carry semen, bladder, or lymph nodes.
A stage where cancer spreads from the prostate to other body parts.
Bloated legs or pelvic area
Weakness in legs, hips, or feet
Continuous bone pain
Depending on the patient’s physical conditions like age, level of risk, health condition, and personal choice prostate cancer treatment are provided. And can be treated either with surgery or can involve a combination of surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy or hormone therapy.
